Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition
No. 21, Vol. 3. Autumnal Equinox 2011

The Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition invites English-language submissions of original research in the various fields that make up the Western Mystery Tradition. Submissions are invited across disciplines and cultures. Articles from specialists and established scholars are appreciated but not required and articles of superior quality from writer, be they scholar, practitioner or skeptic, or any combination of the above, are welcome, as are rituals, ritual analysis, poetry, book reviews, artwork and short stories. As each issue of the Journal is themed, articles not appropriate for the up-coming issue may be accepted on the condition that their publication may be delayed for an appropriate issue. It is our hope that the JWMT will serve not only as a forum for scholarly articles, but as a venue for the dissemination of news on the issues of concern to the study of the Western Mysteries. Materials submitted to Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition must not have been previously published nor submitted for publication elsewhere while under review by JWMT editors.

The preferred length of articles is from between 4,000 to 8,000 words, including endnotes. Book reviews should be 500 to 1,000 words. Submission of photographs or other graphics is encouraged when they can substantively enhance an article.

The Journal reserves the right to edit for length and clarity, with the agreement of the author. We also reserve the right to edit for usage and style as well as edit or recreate images as deemed necessary. Accepted manuscripts must follow the humanities form of the Chicago Style of citation (offsite link) and should be submitted according to these style guidelines. All references should be in endnotes, numbered throughout the whole of the manuscript using Arabic numbers. When using this format a bibliography is not required. Submissions not conforming to these guidelines will not be accepted. The Journal encourages the use of nonexclusive language.

Art submitted to the Jornal should be relevant to the issue's topic. All art should be submitted in .tiff or .jpg format and at 300 dpi for purposes of resizing. Art may be either black and white or color.

The Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition is published twice yearly at the Equinoxes. All submissions must be in to the editorial staff one month before publication. Submissions should be in either .doc or .rtf format. All submissions should be zipped into a single file with containing both the text file and any images. Submissions should be e-mailed to submit @ jwmt dot org.

Sincerely,
The JWMT Editorial Staff
