The Neophyte

Contently she sits in the darkness, blinded by her ignorance.
While staring into the void a small glimmer of light ruptures onto the black canvas.
A gasp of air escapes her as adrenaline floods her being.
Watching this brilliant beam of light extending and transforming, she is consumed with awe and
excitement. Flickering like a distant star, this beacon light calls to her. She is no longer content with her darkness.
Her emotions overflow and she runs toward this light. Without footprints in the sand, she cries, "Leave me
not, in darkness!"
